I'm noticing two themes in my wellness practice lately:
For those who are coming to see me for Ayurveda I seem to be their last hope, with so many issues, and their doctors not being able to figure things out. Ayurveda is helping them heal.
The majority of individuals don't really understand how Ayurveda can help with their health challenges
First off, you name it, Ayurveda can help:
Autoimmune
Blood Pressure
Cholesterol
Chronic pain
Diabetes
Weight loss/gain
Eczema
Hemorrhoids
Heavy menstrual flow
Fibroids, cysts, etc.
Chronic fatigue
Anxiety
Depression
Etc.
Basically, Ayurveda can help with whatever ails you, and/or prevent health challenges. The intention of Ayurveda is to work with root issues to solve the problem. The approach is different from that of allopathic medicine, which for some can be challenging to grasp for some. For example, two people with high blood pressure may do different things to get better, because the cause of their blood pressure issues are different. Recently, an MD was curious about Ayurveda and asked what I would recommend for a UTI. Well, it depends. The famous answer in Ayurveda. It depends on the type of UTI, and what is causing the UTI. Yes, there are symptomatic treatments in Ayurveda to help manage symptoms, but ultimately we look to resolve the issue causing the symptom(s).
There are certain at-home remedies as well for common challenges like the cold, allergies, flu, etc. However, it depends on the type, so it can be a wee bit tricky to recommend something for a general ailment. However, I'm working on creating a chart that you can go to and find your best possible remedy.
In summary - Ayurveda can help with whatever challenges you are working with that you may want to change.
